Page 152 (7/24/2007) Wagon wheels
When next I woke I could smell dinner being prepared. How long had I been out? Honestly couldnt tell. My head was spinning faster than a free wagon wheel being balanced. A long dark haired slave girl came into my wagon and was rather happy to see me. I noticed the collar on her neck bore a mark that matched a ring on my finger. It took me several Ehn to finally put the name with the girl.. tanya... I called out and she smiled.. coming to my side. I asked her what happened to which she could not reply.. only that the Masks had brought me back and tended me. she asked if I was hungry.... I was not.. but I could have drank all the water in the Thassa... had it been.. drinkable. she quickly headed out to get me some bota's of water. As I lay there... trying to remember what happened... the flaps parted and in walked a very large man in full black... the Mask covering His face. I tried to sit up and nearly went through the roof covering with pain. Yelping loudly.. the Mask hurried over to assit. Nothing was broken to my knowledge but damn if I wasnt sore. Catching my breath.. He helped me back to a comfortable laying position. He spoke low from within the confines of the steel face covering... asking me how I was doing. I recognized His voice from the night He found me. I thanked Him for helping me and He nodded... I could see from the wrinkle of His eyes that He smiled. I told Him also to thank the other one that helped... and I could see how His head tilted. He told me He didnt know the other.. had only met Him that moment. tanya returned and brought water and I had her offer to feed the Mask. They left me alone as I drank more water... and more and more. The wagon was still spinning.. and I groaned... wanting off this crazy ride. Pondering who this other Man was now... that had returned me to my wagon... I drifted back to sleep. But there would be no rest.. for the wicked.
