Page 176 (8/28/2007) Righting a wrong

Of all the things Ive learned... I know it is better to correct a mistake before it is given wings and flies around going from the size of a herlit to the grand enterance of a Tarn. Such an error occured when I let down my defenses and said something in the presence of two people that was wrong of me to do. It was addressed towards a Commander and totally inapropriate of me to say. I contacted the one I spoke of and asked for a talk... I was granted my audience and commenced to tell what I had done. No other reason than.. I was guilty and that for me is hard to stomach. Aside from the main issue other's did arise... and my eyes were again opened to things I do not and did not see within myself. I am thankful for the advice and the knowledge bestowed upon me. One of the conditions to this discussion was that while my apology was accepted for my words... I should also right the wrong I did to the two these words were said in front of.... One was Shi. The other also accepted my offer to speak and I took care of that.
Now I wait for Shi... I need to take care of this and finish what I started.. and I also need to sit and talk with Him and really listen to what He needs to say to me. Listen to what He wants to teach me.... hear what He wants me to know... how I can grow... and understand.
I need to listen with my ears and not my heart.

"You think I'm an ignorant savage

And you've been so many places
I guess it must be so
But still I cannot see
If the savage one is me
Now can there be so much that you don't know?
You don't know ...
You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each otherIn a circle,
in a hoop that never ends
How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind"
